don't EVER use your flat iron with wet hair!!!!!!! It will burn your hair! Buy a drying flat iron.

no, it would ruin the plates and the iron.. you can spray iron smoother on your hair when is air dried or blow dried, but never use it with your hair wet.

I took this iron to Spain about a year ago, and the plates got so hot that when I started to straighten my hair the section I was on immediately began to literally sizzle, even though I had not changed the temperature, and I used a proper outlet converter. The straightener itself wasn't damaged though, as it still worked well when I got back to the States. Just make sure to straighten an inconspicuous test-section before risking a large section of hair to severe heat damage.

No, I am here b/c I was in Israel and even with a converter I fried my curling iron with 220. I am going to buy one in country next time I go so I have 220 and a 110 for USA. I didn't have a converter but I would not trust it.

solia vs. hai
I'm trying to decide between the solia and Hai convertable. I know the solia is a tourmaline iron so does this make it better? Any recommendations?

I've borrowed both from my sorority sisters and in my opinion the Solia is much more powerful at the same temperature. My hair is thick wavy and it came out so silky and straight and stayed that way for days with the Solia. The Hai is amazing too, but for some reason, my hair constantly started flipping a few hours after I straightened. Good luck!

they are both amazing irons and definitely better than the chi.. if you have really thick curly hair then I recommend the solia just because it goes up higher in temperature, but the hai definitely does the job as well it just doesn't go up in temperature as much as the other. I had the hai for 6 years and now I have the solia, they are both great I can't really complain.

Breaking Down
I know with all tech products, sometimes they just break down. To prevent this from happening to a good investment, like the HAI which I am seriously considering getting, what are some things to do to take good care of it? And why do they break down sometimes?

Is Hai a good product?
I have been using conair ceramic iron for 3 years and it is a load of crap. I have natural curls that curl just by the touch of water. I want a flat iron that can make my hair smooth as butter,so is Hai good for me?

I have had Hai flat iron for at least 4 years and I have curly hair and when i'd blow dry my hair or use a cheap flat iron my hair would frizz right away. I love this Flat iron it makes my hair feel soft and it stays straight. I also use some kind of a frizz control that helps if u live some where where there is aolt of humidity like in florida where I live.

is this straightner good with wet and dry hair?
I know that you should typically have your hair dry, but when I get out of the shower my hair is sometimes damp. I tried using the CHI but it just made my hair really frizzy. The salon I went to used HAI so I wanted to know all the specs and details on it before I buy it. Can someone help me out?
