I'm half Italian and half greek (as if my name wasn't clue enough) which means my hair is SUPER thick and curly. I keep it straight almost always and before the sedu i have been using a Chi which did NOT WORK FOR ME AT ALL! It made my hair so damaged so i though it was time for a new straightener! After a long time of research i bought the Sedu and i LOVE IT!! I put some leave in conidtioner oroil and use AUSSIE 3 MINUTE MIRACLE on my hair, rinse it, then use biosilk or chi silk infusion and there! My hair IS SO SHINY AND SOFT AND TOTALLY FRIZZ FREE!!! My step mom has super fragile bleached hair and everyother straightener she used maker her hair super greasy but i turned the sedu down on the temp and her hair looked AMAZING!!! It is perfect for all hair types and the best flat iron i have owned! THANK YOU SEDU!!!

I have curly hair that once it is blow dried it is a frizzy mess. I have tried the "wet to straight" flat iron, a $40 flat iron from sally's Beauty and a Chi Flat Iron. The Sedu Flat Iron is 100X better than any of my other two flat irons. It used to take me over an hour to straighten my hair and NOW it takes only 20-30. The Sedu iron gets my hair shiny and smooth (and not to mention- really flat) while it straightens quicker with less going over the same pieces. I would recommend this product to ANYONE and EVERYONE that has similar hair qualities like mine. It's expensive but worth every penny. Even if it died in like a year- I would still buy a new one- SO WORTH IT!! So shiny!!

I just got this flat iron about 2 weeks ago. I can finish my hair in a lot less time than I used to. I love how it doesn't yank or snag my hair, its so smooth! My hair feels so soft afterwards and the price is great with free shopping! It also gets hot real fast! I would recommend this to my friends! I included a before and after picture to show how well it works for my hair...the before picture is right after I blow dried my hair.

Okay so I bought the Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Iron (1-3/4"), the Sedu Pro Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron (1 1/2") , and the CHI Turbo Digital 1" Iron, and the Sedu was the second best in my opinion. It left my hair shiny, and frizz free, with one or two strokes, and my hair did not at all get caught in it! The only thing I liked better in the Solia was that the length of the plates (not width) was about an inch more, so I could iron more hair at a time. Also it seems I had to go over the hair more with the Sedu. Mind you, not much, maybe two times a piece. But with the Solia, it was def only one stroke (I guess cause the temp goes higher with the solia). Both were much better than the CHI!!! They all left my hair nice, but the CHI took way more strokes, and didnt leave it quite as sleek as the others. Oh and I have very very curly, over-processed, over-dyed and bleached hair...in the before picture it actually looks tamer than usual if you can imagine that.

I was nervous at first when I got my flat iron because I didnt know if it would work as well or better than my Herstyler(colorful seasons3). I tried it and I love it! My hair is so soft and even smoother than after using my old iron. My hair even stays straight on humid days! Definitely worth the money.

When I first saw the Sedu straightener, I was a little disappointed at how short the plates were. My hair is very frizzy and I prefer longer plates because my hair doesn't stay together very well when I'm straightening. It heated up very quickly and was very hot, and did a pretty good job straightening my hair. It was no better than when I straightened it with my $60 straightener, and it did not take off half the time it normally takes me to do my hair. I usually spend 40-45 minutes on it, with the Sedu it took about a half an hour. I hope that with more use I can get used to the shorter plates and get better results. But, as you can see, it did a good job straightening. I only give it three stars because it did not meet up to the standards I held when I saw the other reviews on here. Using the same product I did with my old straightener did not keep my hair from poofing out a while after I straightened it and if I could go back in time I don't think I would have paid $100 for this product.

I Have Purchased My First Flat Iron, And I Love It. I Had To Learn A Few Things, Such As What Products To Use With The Iron To Get Best Results.I Have Very Curly Hair., It Is Hard To Manage. And I Live In Florida, The Humidty Makes It Frizzy. With My Sedu Flat Iron, It Will Stay Nice And Straight For Three Days, With Minimal Touch Up. And I Wanted To Say To The Ladies Of My Age, The Flat Iron Is Great For Us Also. There Are Videos To View On The Internet That Help You With Learning How To Use The Flat Iron. Just Keep Practicing, And Make Sure You Use The Correct Conditoners On Your Hair Prior To The Flat Iron. Once You Learn How To Use It, You Will Not Be Disappointed, You Will "FEEL LIKE A BEAUTIFUL WOMEN". Thank You So Much From Florida!!

My entire life I've always hated my hair, tried every product from frizz-easers, special shampoos, serums, cheaper straighteners, and if they did anything at all it would last a few hours before my hair was either greasy or dried and damaged. And forget any kind of styling, that wasn't going to happen. So obviously I had my doubts about this iron. The first time I used it, I was AMAZED! I used it with a little CHI Silk Infusion (only needed about the size of a quarter for all my hair, and this coming from someone who's hair EATS through product) and in about twenty minutes my hair looked like the second photo. I love the adjustable heat option, I also love the tourmaline plates which don't rip my hair to pieces while I'm using this. Does cost a little more then some irons, but worth every bit I paid for it!

i have tried a couple other flat irons and they all turned out crappy and eventually burned my hair. after EXTENSIVE research, i came across the Sedu. i read reviews and decided to try it myself. its amazing. i never thought a flat iron would work this well in MY hair. its truly a miracle. i used to wear my hair up in a bun all the time but now i leave it out. it gave me a huge confidence boost. i love it and will never go with another brand!

My hair is very nappy/kinky due to the fact that I don't use relaxers. I don't regularly straighten my hair because its hard work. I gave the Sedu four stars because the 1st time I used it, it didnt work that well. My hair didnt get bone straight. Well my friend convinced me that she could do a better job, & she did! I am currently considering flat ironing my hair on a regular basis but I live in a very humid city and Id prefer not to look like a troll doll.
Finally, a good straightener.

Ive always had huge poofy, curly hair and with this straightener, i got rid of all of that.
the temperature is really high, which is good for me and i love the width and the temperature changing option.

I just purchased my Sedu two days ago and I'll be honest in saying that I didn't think it would do the trick on my SUPER THICK natural hair because most flat irons really don't. However, I first put some Chi silk infusion and a smidge of Ultra Sheen on my hair and then proceeded to flat iron it. Just running the iron over my hair once did the trick. That has NEVER happened before. Once I was done I decided to run back over it for good measure to ensure that it was bone straight. In the past when I have gotten my hair straight it has never lasted more than a day or so especially if the weather is humid. Well yesterday I went out in super humid weather and upon returning home my hair was STILL bone straight. THAT is when I was officially sold on this iron. Well worth the $120 spent.

okay, so first of all let me say that i am mixed, meaning my hair is very textured and VERY thick and curly. the previous straighteners i have owned would require me to use at least 4-5 products BEFORE even straightening.it would take me at least 2 hours and they would leave my hair BONE straight and stiff and cause many split ends, but not the sedu!!! As soon as i got it i was so anxious to see if the other reviews were all they were cracked up to be.. The sedu heated up in about 30 seconds on the highest heat setting(while the others would take at least 5 min). all i used was JOHN FRIEDA FRIZZ EASE HAIR SERUM and in 1 hour my hair was straight, silky smooth, and full of volume!! it also keeps my hair straight even on the most humid of days!! i am very pleased with this purchase and i highly recomend buying it! its a little pricey but it pays for itself within a few uses. i hope this review was helpful to whoever reads it!

i've been using sedu irons for the past 5 years, and i LOVE them. I had to get a new one a year or so ago because my friend stepped on my other one :(
this is probably the best investment i've made as far as my hair goes...it leaves it super shiny, soft, and straight. also, it doesn't make your hair stick straight (unless you want it that way); you can flip the ends and enhance layers.
i've used it for a long time, almost every day, and it hasn't dmamged my hair. it's really a wonderful product, look no further!

My hair is thick and coarse. I have MANY kinks after blow-drying as my hair is naturally wavy. The results with this are unbelievable!!!! I have experienced some breakage, but its worth it for the shiny strands!

Okay first and foremost excuse the background of the picture I just had surgery so my room is not in order. Okay lol so what I did first was wash my hair with Motions Shampoo and After Shampoo Conditioner. I also applied Motions Shine Enhancing Pomade. After I blow dried my hair I used the Sedu. As soon as I applied it to my hair and read the instructions on how to get that soft curl effect it came out so beautifulll! If I could do a commercial for for Sedu I would lol. The Sedu flat iron is the way to go. I do have perm treated hair but I'm in need of a touch up. The settings was already set to high when I received it. It heats up real quick! My mom and I quote said " Your hair looks more softer than when the hair dresser does it!" and usually my mom just says it looks nice. She's an honest person. But for all the ethnic girls out there that is skeptical about buying a flat iron. I'm telling you the Sedu is the way to go.

my hair is thick and wavy and i've always wanted it to be straight but my flat irons would just make my hair look gross and even thicker. But one time after getting a haircut the haircutter straightened my hair with a chi and it came out amazing but by the end of the day it was curling up at the ends. So i came on here to buy a chi but then saw that the Sedu was rated #1 so i took a chance and bought it. My hair stays straight for days and looks so healthy and shiny. I LOVE this flat iron (:

I did a lot of research before purchasing a new flat iron. I had a CHI for 7 years and it finally broke after getting knocked off the counter onto the tile floor. I decided to go with a flat iron that may be better designed for my hair type. I have very thick "ugly" wavy hair that has partial highlights. The CHI did a nice job but after an hour in the humidity it felt as though I never used a flat iron. It was also only one inch thick. I have been using my new Sedu for 4 days now and it is performing well and what I would expect for a $120 flat iron. I bought the 1.5" flat iron for my longer hair. The Sedu striaghtens my hair in about 3/4 the time as the CHI. After a long day in outside, my hair still feels flat and healthy. My husband even noticed how nice my hair looked....which I thought was a big deal for a guy to take note. I highly recommend this flat iron to someone who needs to use it often and have longer hair. I don't know how worth the extra cost would be for someone with shorter, fine hair. It is definitely worth it for someone with my hair type. I am very pleased with the value.
